BroadcastTrimmer measures leading and trailing silence, applies an independent policy to each end, and processes selected files or complete folder trees with a dry-run first.

Change the boundaries, not the content inside them.

BroadcastTrimmer works only on silence touching the beginning or end of a file. Interior pauses, dramatic gaps, and silence between programme sections are never removed.

Tune the detector

Choose the dBFS threshold and minimum duration that define silence for the material being prepared.

Set head and tail policies

Give each end its own Leave, Cut back, Top up, or Exact policy and a target from 0 to 30 seconds.

Choose output deliberately

Mirror the source tree into a separate destination or work in place after confirming the batch and backup policy.

Choose timing accuracy

Use lossless stream copy for packet-boundary cuts or re-encode for sample-accurate trimming and generated silence.

Protect the original when a result cannot be trusted.

  1. All-silent files are skipped.A file detected as silence from beginning to end is left untouched.
  2. Large removals are refused.A configurable per-file limit stops an unexpected detection result from cutting too much.
  3. Output is temporary first.The final path changes only after a complete non-empty result has been written.
  4. Stopped and failed work is cleaned up.Temporary output is removed, while the original remains intact.
